All-American offensive lineman Wilkin Formby is staying home and will play for Alabama. The Top100 tackle from Tuscaloosa (Ala.) Northridge committed to Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide on Monday evening, becoming pledge No. 5 for UA. The hometown standout chose Alabama over Ole Miss and Oklahoma, among a long list of others. He’s the first offensive lineman to join the class.
Credit offensive line coach Eric Wolford and offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien for winning this recruiting battle, one that saw many of the nation’s top programs coming after the local product.
At 6-foot-7, 295 pounds, Formby is ranked the No. 10 offensive tackle and the No. 83 overall player in the country, per the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings.
