Wilky Denaud, a four-star defensive lineman from John Carroll (Fla.) High, verbally committed to the Tigers on Wednesday.
Recruits are still pondering as head coach Bryan Harsin urges prospective players to “watch.” Denaud (pronounced dee-nod) listened, choosing a future in the Plains over Florida State, Tennessee and Indiana. He became the fifth member of the 2023 class and first defensive lineman, giving Auburn another piece to pressure the quarterback.
The 6-foot-4, 245-pound Denaud is a much-needed win for Auburn, which hasn’t had a commitment since July 4.
247Sports composite ranks Denaud as the country’s 361st-ranked recruit and No. 48 defensive lineman. Evaluators were impressed with Denaud’s frame — he’s measured a nearly 82-inch wingspan — and pass-rushing moves.
