Auburn has bolstered its defensive line depth with an experienced piece from the transfer portal.

Bryan Harsin’s program picked up a commitment from Memphis defensive tackle transfer Morris Joseph Jr. on Wednesday night, giving Auburn a veteran addition to the interior of its defensive line for the 2022 season.

A 6-foot-2, 275-pounder originally from Orange, Texas, Joseph spent the last three seasons at Memphis after starting his career at UTSA in 2017 and then spending a season at Iowa Western Community College in 2018. During his three seasons at Memphis, Joseph appeared in 33 games for the Tigers and racked up 118 tackles, with 19 for a loss and 11.5 sacks, as well as one forced fumble.

Last season, Joseph appeared in 10 games for Memphis and made nine starts along the defensive line. He totaled 38 tackles, with 20 solo stops, 4.5 tackles for a loss and 1.5 sacks.
