Jason Pierre-Paul has had a sack in five straight games dating to 2019, the longest active streak in the league. In fact, Pierre-Paul’s eight sacks during that stretch are most in the NFL.
While much of the attention — on and off the field ― is going to linebacker Shaquil Barrett, who led the league with 19.5 sacks last season, Pierre-Paul is the tone-setter for the Bucs pass rush.
“He most definitely is really consistent, and he’s so good that you don’t know what you’re going to get from him on every play,” Barrett said. “He could use the power, he could power and come underneath, he could give you a little shake. It’s pretty hard to stop him. The length that he’s got makes the power really effective. It helps me out a lot because he’s getting chips on that side sometimes giving me a one-on-one on my side. It’s working out really (well) for him right now, even with the chip (blocks). He got chipped, I think, a lot this game.”
