Melvin Ingram makes his presence felt with his brash persona whenever he steps on the field, but he did more than recite rap lyrics for Thursday’s training-camp practice at Jack Hammett Sports Complex.

Ingram returned to his rightful place on the edge of the Chargers’ defense line to end his non-participation streak. He watched from the sidelines to start the first week of padded practices because of what teammate Joey Bosa referred to as a business decision.

It’s unknown if Ingram resolved his business dispute with the Chargers, but that’s staying “company business” for now, and Ingram’s teammates are glad to have him back.

“It’s always fun having Melvin out here,” tight end Hunter Henry said. “Obviously, he’s a tremendous player. A leader on this team. He’s been around for a long time.

“He’s so much fun to go against. He’s one of the top players in the game, so anytime you get him back out here, definitely the energy goes up.”
