After coming in as a five-star recruit and the 247Sports Composite’s No.1 overall player in the 2020 signing class, Clemson defensive end Bryan Bresee has apparently lived up to the billing. On Monday, Clemson released its first official depth chart of the 2020 season, and Bresee is among the starters on defense.

In the team’s official depth chart, Bresee shares the starting role at one of the defensive tackle spots along with Nyles Pinckney and Jordan Williams. That means the talented true freshman will get the chance to make an immediate impact in his college debut against Wake Forest on Saturday.

After coming in with so much hype as a recruit, it should have been tough for Bresee to exceed expectations. However, that’s exactly what happened. Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney raved about what Bresee’s been able to do since he stepped on campus.

“Special group. As advertised. Bryan Bresee… I mean he’s probably better than advertised to be honest with you,” Swinney said. “He’s made huge strides. Same thing for Myles Murphy. I think those two guys just make you better the moment they step onto the field.”
