It was Florida defensive coordinator Todd Grantham’s turn in front of the Zoom media on Monday and there were all kinds of things to ask him about a practice that none of the media have been able to see a lick of. One of those subjects was the freshmen defensive linemen and Grantham seemed to be pretty happy with where they are at.

Florida had a really nice haul along the defensive line in the 2020 class. Combine that with redshirt freshman defensive tackle Jaelin Humphries and there is a chance to really find some players among them. But they have to grow.

“I think when you look at the young guys in general, they’ve all shown up at times,” Grantham said. “I think the biggest thing is when you’re dealing with young players you’ll see flashes of a guy being really good. But then it gets down to the consistency of being what you need to be to be the kind of SEC defense that we want to be. So those are the things we’ll be working on as far as being consistent with our play.”
