Daniel Jones wasn’t playing at full health and wasn’t able to move as well as he normally does in the loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday.
But the offensive line didn’t help much either.
During their four-game win streak, the O-line was getting praise for their adjustments since the beginning of the season, and the system where the Giants rotate players in and out throughout the contest seemed to be clicking. That is until the Cards came in and blew up the line consistently in the 26-7 loss.
Eight sacks were tallied in this defensively dominant game for the Cardinals, with Hassan Reddick leading the way with a franchise-record five. Dennis Gardeck had two and former Giant Markus Golden kicked off the day with a strip sack that he almost returned for a touchdown.
Arizona was just having a field day with the offensive line and it wasn’t even close to an even battle. Reddick, for one, was going against Andrew Thomas for most of the contest, and Thomas was just coming off his best graded game last week. His play has drastically improved, but he took a big step backwards in this one. Cam Fleming and Matt Peart were also having issues.
Up the middle, Shane Lemieux and Will Hernandez had some problems as well. And Kevin Zeitler let up a sack at one point, too.
