K-State defensive tackles coach Mike Tuiasosopo said during a Zoom news conference on Wednesday that 6-foot, 291-pound defensive tackle Robert Hentz II, the eighth-best junior college defensive tackle and 72nd-overall junior college prospect in the Class of 2020 by 247Sports, was initially hampered by the cancellation of spring practice, then later tested positive for novel coronavirus, which caused an additional setback.

“Right before the shutdown, he was really making some progress in terms of his conditioning in getting into shape,” Tuiasosopo said. “We were all looking forward to spring ball, which is something I feel like Robert really needed as a transfer. That would’ve been a real plus. We’ve kind of treated the first part of camp as a kind of spring ball in many ways. He came back and then he happened to be one of the positives, so he had to, bottom line is he needed to get himself (well).”
