LSU continued its major week of recruiting wins Monday as it gained commitments from four-star prospect Darron Reed, a defensive lineman from Carver High in Columbus, Ga., and three-star defensive back Ashton Stamps from Archbishop Rummel in Metairie, La.
Reed, who chose the Tigers in a hotly contested battle with Ohio State, marks LSU’s third defensive line commitment in four days, with Tigers D-line coach Jamar Cain continuing a massive week in the 2023 class. On July 1, LSU landed top-100 edge rusher Jaxon Howard from Minneapolis, and two days later four-star edge rusher Joshua Mickens from Indianapolis picked the Tigers as well. And it may not be over, with four-star defensive lineman Dashawn Womack, from Baltimore, announcing his decision at 4:30 p.m. (CT). LSU is considered the favorite to land Womack.
Reed is ranked No. 228 overall in the Class of 2023 in the 247Sports Composite but is rated No. 28 by On3’s evaluators.
