It’s a wide open race to win a starting job on LSU’s defensive line under first-year defensive coordinator Bo Pelini, who is shifting the Tigers to a 4-3 base defense, putting more hands in the dirt than the Tigers operated with under former defensive coordinator Dave Aranda.

One starting defensive tackle spot is certainly locked up with the return of Tyler Shelvin, who is projected by ESPN’s Todd McShay as a first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

There’s seemingly also been another ticket punched in fall camp, with Orgeron repeatedly praising senior Andre Anthony, who made the move from outside linebacker to defensive end, which can be argued is the New Orleans native’s more natural position.
