The No. 17 Miami Hurricanes won their opening game against UAB.
They racked up 337 yards on the ground and nearly 500 yards of total offense, but have decided to make a change on the offensive line.
Sophomore Jakai Clark has been inserted in at left guard, ahead of Ousman Traore, who make his first start in the 31-14 win over the Blazers. The announcement was made on Monday when the school released its upcoming depth chart for their next game on Saturday (7:30 p.m., ABC) at No. 18 Louisville.
“Traore didn’t play poorly,” head coach Manny Diaz said. “Jakai Clark is a guy we’ve known is a starter-quality player. We felt like we’re deeper this year on the offensive line than we were a year ago. Just reviewing the film with the offensive staff we just felt that Jakai would maybe settle in a little bit better at left guard, but I think you’ll see us go past five deep with six, seven, eight guys able to go in there.”
