Miami quarterback D’Eriq King was sacked a season high six times at Virginia Tech.

A short-handed UM offensive line had its poorest performance of the 2020 season against the Hokies and the Pro Football Focus grades show a rough outing.

Due to unavailabilities from players like John Campbell, Jakai Clark, and Jalen Rivers, the Hurricanes had to elevate Ousman Traore into the starting lineup at left guard. Traore had not played significant snaps since the season opener against UAB.

Virginia Tech approached the game with looking to generate pressure up the middle with delayed blitzes and twists up front on third down.

Miami struggled with these looks.
