Recruiting news often seems to come in bunches, and Tuesday was no different. Hours after landing a commitment from Vanderbilt DL Lorenza Surgers, the Gophers received a culture-defining pickup from Notre Dame transfer OL and Edina, Minn. native Quinn Carroll.
Standing at 6-foot-6, 320 pounds, Carroll was Minnesota’s No. 1 overall recruit in 2019. After suffering a knee injury as a freshman, he was put behind the eight ball and struggled to find the field for a talented Notre Dame offensive line, during his three seasons with the program. After opting to return home, only one day after entering the portal, Carroll now has three seasons of eligibility remaining. He is slated to become the leader of a rebuilding Gophers offensive line.
