We already knew that senior Matt Farniok was moving inside from right tackle to right guard, and the coach confirmed those plans remained unchanged. Behind Farniok, he mentioned redshirt freshman Ethan Piper and Trent Hixson (last year’s starter at left guard) as options, as well as Matt Sichterman (who can also play some tackle).

At right tackle, redshirt freshman Bryce Benhart is now up to bat, with veteran Christian Gaylord and promising redshirt frosh Brant Banks also set to work there.

At center, it’s sophomore Cameron Jurgens, and then Hixson (cross-training at two spots) and Will Farniok working there too. “His command presence from a year ago is 180 degrees from where it is right now,” Austin said of Jurgens’ growth.

At left guard is senior Boe Wilson, which is noteworthy since Wilson spent the last two years starting at right guard. Broc Bando and recent transfer Nouredin Nouili (immediately eligible) are also working there.

At left tackle, senior Brenden Jaimes is of course first in line. And then – now this is interesting – true freshman Turner Corcoran is working there as well. Gaylord and Banks can also give reps at that spot.
