North Carolina received its second addition by way of the transfer portal on Monday in Virginia outside linebacker/edge rusher Noah Taylor.

Taylor, who has one year of eligibility left, entered the transfer portal on Dec. 6 following his fourth season as a Cavalier. He appeared in 44 games — with 31 starts at outside linebacker — for UVa where he accumulated 170 tackles, including 30 for a loss and 13.5 sacks, and three interceptions. The 6-foot-5, 235-pounder intended on playing in the Wasabi Fenway Bowl on Wednesday, but the contest was canceled due to COVID issues.

North Carolina will lose super senior outside linebacker Tomon Fox at the end of this season. Fox has 28.5 sacks, which is third in program history behind Greg Ellis (32.5) and Julius Peppers (30.5).
