Former Washington defensive tackle Sam Taimani announced he was transferring to Oregon on Thursday after taking an official visit to Eugene.
Taimani played four seasons at Washington and registered 68 tackles and 3.5 tackles for loss for the Huskies. The 6-foot-2, 330-pound defensive tackle will provide depth for the Ducks as he will likely team with Popo Aumavae and Brandon Dorlus with the hopes of being run stoppers on the line.
Coming out of East High School in Salt Lake City, Taimani was a four-star player in the 2018 recruiting class according to 247Sports Composite. He was also rated the 208th-best prospect and committed to Washington over Alabama, BYU, Colorado, Oregon and Utah.
