JaSiré Peterson is back with Rutgers football, the offensive line prospect re-committing to the Scarlet Knights on Thursday night.

The announcement by Peterson came as a bit of a surprise. The 2023 offensive lineman, is considered one of the best players in New Jersey this recruiting cycle, originally committed to the program last fall. But in mid-January, he de-committed and opened up his recruitment.
Despite backing off his pledge, Peterson always remained open to the idea of returning to Rutgers. The Union City prospect, who projects as an offensive tackle, visited Rutgers in late January and raved about his time with the program.

After de-committing from Rutgers, Peterson earned ‘Power Five’ offers including Boston College, Illinois, Pittsburgh and Syracuse. In addition, programs like Penn State and West Virginia were getting involved in his recruitment as well.

247Sports ranks Peterson as the fourth-best player in New Jersey and as a four-star recruit.
