Offensive coordinator Mike Bobo feels good about one of his offensive tackles – junior Dylan Wonnum, who is entering his second year as a full-time starter after taking over at right tackle midway through his freshman season. Wonnum will start at one of the two tackle spots, but which one is still to be determined.
And it will be determined based on the other winner out of a pool of four candidates. Junior college transfer Jazston Turnetine is one of those candidates, as is sophomore Jaylen Nichols and redshirt freshman Jakai Moore. True freshman Vershon Lee has also entered his name into the mix.
“I think it’s a good problem to have,” Bobo said. “We feel really good about Dylan Wonnum at one of the tackles. The other guys, it’s going to be how we feel going into this week after today’s practice when we look at the film as far as who we’re going to put out there as a starter. We’ve been rotating those guys every day.”
