The 6-foot-3, 290-pound senior from Hardin County High school in Savannah, Tennessee has totaled 24 tackles, seven TFLs, two sacks, one pass deflection and forced one fumble while playing for the Vols.
Bumphus also discussed what Tennessee needs to improve on throughout its defensive line unit in 2020.
The senior defensive lineman mentioned that working on “details at the point of attack” is an area to improve on.
“The first two years I was at tight end and then Coach (Jeremy) Pruitt pulled me to the side and he thought for my best would be to go to the defensive line,” Bumphus said during the third week of fall training camp. “So really, I just trusted him and been there ever since.”
