USC football picked up a transfer from Alabama in DT Ishmael Sopsher
USC football’s defensive line just got 310 pounds bigger.
On Friday night, redshirt freshman Ishmael Sopsher declared his intention to transfer from Alabama to USC.
Sopsher came out of high school in Amite, Louisiana in 2019 as one of the nation’s top prospects. He ranked No. 47 nationally and No. 5 among defensive tackles according to the 247Sports composite when he signed with Alabama over LSU.
Barton Simmons of 247Sports credited Sopsher with “natural strength” but warned that his size propelled him through high school and he would need to develop more skills to succeed at the college level.
