Auburn linebacker transfer Romello Height announced his commitment to USC. The sophomore edge rusher was one of several former Tigers to enter the transfer portal earlier in January. Height played in nine games during the 2021 season as a valuable reserve on defense. He finished the year with 18 tackles, three for a loss, and four quarterback hurries. He appeared in only one game as a freshman in 2020 and was credited with one quarterback hurry. That year did not count towards his eligibility, meaning Height will have three years left to play with the potential for a redshirt.

The 6-foot-3, 214 pound edge rusher had 20 pressures in 124 pass-rush snaps, according to Pro Football Focus. His 16.1 percent pressure rate would have been the best of any defensive lineman/outside linebacker on the USC roster in 2021. His win percentage on pass rush attempts (23.1 percent) also would have topped USC’s pass rushers. Korey Foreman (20.5 percent) and Drake Jackson (19.5 percent) led the way for the Trojans.
