C.E. King (Houston, TX) defensive lineman JoLaison Landry announced his commitment to Kyle Whittingham and his Utah football program on Monday. After an official visit to the program over the weekend, Landry came away quite impressed and felt comfortable with everything that Utah brought to the table. He becomes the sixth commit in Utah’s 2023 class and brings a lot of potential to the defensive front.
Landry possesses a quality frame at 6-foot-3 and currently checks in at 242 pounds. Landry is a defensive end with the athleticism and length to play on the edge, while also potentially having the size to play along the interior could also be in the cards. Landry has a promising projection as a disruptive lineman but one capable of holding his own against the run as well.
Landry has flown under the radar in the recruiting industry but he has a solid offer sheet that expands 16 schools. Landry is a prospect that had just started to gain traction on the recruiting front and decided to lock in his spot with the Utes. Utah adds an athletic, versatile player to their defensive front and continue to build their class.
