When Kameron Butler announced he had entered the transfer portal, he thanked Miami (OH) University for “an amazing 4 years,” adding that he “can’t wait to see where this takes me.”

On Friday (February 18), the 6’3”, 250-pound standout defensive end announced his second and final collegiate destination. Butler is headed to Charlottesville to play for the University of Virginia and new head coach Tony Elliott.

In addition to Virginia, Butler, a 2021 All-MAC First-Team selection and two-time All-MAC Second-Team pick, announced scholarship offers from Iowa, Kansas State, Ole Miss, Penn State and West Virginia. He gives the Hoos a third defensive lineman from the transfer portal, joining former Michigan State standout Jack Camper and Columbia’s Paul Akere. Camper has already enrolled on Grounds.
