It’s early days in Tennessee’s preseason practices, but the team’s strongest position group is off to the kind of start that’s pleasing head coach Jeremy Pruitt. The Vols had just their first practice in shells (helmets and shoulder pads) on Friday afternoon and won’t go to full pads until next week, but Tennessee’s veteran group up front on offense is already showing plenty of progress amid some competition. Pruitt had good things to say about the offense after Friday’s practice and specifically liked what he saw from the offensive line.
“I was really pleased with our offensive line today. They continue to improve and develop some chemistry up there. We’re playing a lot of guys. A lot of guys get a lot of different opportunities there and moving some guys around, but you can tell from a conceptual standpoint we’re a lot further ahead than we were probably when we practiced in the spring, thanks to the OTAs we had this summer.”
