Lubbock (Texas) Estacado offensive lineman Jihad Lateef has decommitted from Washington State, he announced Monday morning.

Lateef is the No. 984 prospect in the 2022 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 78 interior offensive lineman and the No. 147 prospect in the state of Texas.

The 6-foot-4, 280-pounder committed to the Cougars in April over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Houston, and others. Lateef could take another official visit to Washington State between now and the February signing period due to new NCAA rules.

His decommitment now leaves the Cougars with 10 prospects signed or committed for the 2022 class. Washington State’s class ranks No. 75 nationally and No. 11 in the Pac-12, according to the On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings.
